About HairLossCalc
We aggregate publicly advertised hair transplant prices from clinics across the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, and Turkey — then publish the numbers transparently so you can compare without sales pressure.
What we do
HairLossCalc is an independent reference site for people researching hair transplant procedures. We focus on three questions every prospective patient asks:
- How much does it cost in my city? Per-graft pricing, package totals, and what's included.
- Which technique fits my hair loss? FUE, FUT, DHI, sapphire, robotic — the trade-offs explained without clinic bias.
- Is travel worth it? Honest comparison of medical tourism options (especially Turkey) vs. domestic clinics.
What we don't do
We do not perform hair restoration, prescribe medications, sell hair products, or accept paid placement from clinics. We are not a clinic, not VA-accredited, and not a substitute for an in-person consultation with a board-certified hair restoration surgeon.
How we gather pricing
Our pricing data comes from three sources, in order of weight:
- Publicly advertised prices on clinic websites (collected and re-checked monthly).
- Patient-reported quotes from public consultation reviews, forums (HairRestorationNetwork, BaldTruthTalk), and verified before/after submissions on RealSelf and RealPatientRatings.
- Industry references — ISHRS member surveys, ASPS cost reports, and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery annual statistics.
Where a clinic does not publish prices, we say so. Where ranges are wide, we explain why (Norwood stage, donor density, technique, number of sessions).
How we vet clinics
Every clinic on our directory is checked against five criteria:
- Board certification of the lead surgeon (verified through the relevant medical board).
- ISHRS membership (where applicable).
- Public-facing pricing or transparent quote process.
- Patient outcomes substantiation — before/after photos with documented timelines, not stock imagery.
- Operating in a jurisdiction with clear medical-advertising rules (US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, EU, or accredited international centers).
